“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
December is the month filled with lights, as we adorn our yards, houses and trees with Christmas lights and decorations. All of these beautiful trimmings are in remembrance of the true light of the world, Jesus Christ, who came to set mankind free. This Christmas, let us reflect upon the way that God has given us freedom from the darkness by bringing the light into the world.
Please mark your calendars for some amazing events!
On Thursday, December 14th from 6p-8p we will be having our first Imago Dei Church Christmas fellowship! We will be enjoying hot chocolate and ask that everyone bring their favorite cookies (make or buy 🙂 ) to share. We will have a Christmas movie for the kids and an awesome time of fellowship for the entire family. Please feel free to invite friends and family to this joyous occasion. This will be held at the church office at 285 E Parr. Blvd.
Another exciting first happening this month is the first ever Christmas play at Imago Dei on December 17th! Kids of all ages will join in as angels, animals and others as we watch and learn from Luke 2. Invite your family and friends to this exciting beginning of the Gospel message.
Our Christmas Eve service will take place at our normal service time of 10:30am on Sunday the 24th. Please invite neighbors, friends and family to worship the birth of Jesus!
Lastly, enjoy this season, take time to reflect upon the gift of life that has been gifted to us through the birth of a baby. The King of all creation sleeping in a manger, the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us! Amen!
