John 1:14 states, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” Remembering that Jesus Christ left his glory in heaven to bring life to us is central to our faith. Christ knows our suffering, he knows our joy and everything in-between. Let’s keep this in mind as we pray for those affected by the horrible attack that happened on Sunday in Sutherland Springs, TX, at First Baptist Church.
Your safety is very important to us at Imago Dei Church. While we pray that we never have to deal with such a tragedy, we are aware that evil lurks in this world in various forms and our security team asks that you always stay vigilant. KTVN interviewed Mike, our security manager and I to discuss being prepared as a church.
God has been working powerfully at Imago Dei Church! November is a full of great opportunities for everyone to get involved!
Small groups are in full swing studying the book by Dr. Christine Pohl, “Living into Community: Cultivating the Practices That Sustain Us.” In our Sunday services we finished going through the four categories outlined in the book for building strong communities; Gratitude, Keeping Promises, Living Truthfully and Hospitality. If you missed any part of the series “Living Into Community” please make sure you check out our podcast on iTunes. You can subscribe and have each week’s sermon sent to your phone, tablet or computer. Check it out and feel free to send to your friends and family.

Parents, please mark your calendars for December 17th! We will be having our first ever Christmas play at Imago Dei and couldn’t be more excited! Kids will be able to join in as angels, animals and others as we watch and learn from Luke 2. More information will be coming to ID Kids this Sunday.
Finally, we have some bittersweet news to share. The Worthington’s (Robert and Laurie and family) are moving back to Kentucky and their last weekend with us will be Sunday, November 19th. Please make sure to pray for their move and love on them before they leave. If you would like to bless them with helping them on moving day, please let me know and I will get you details.
